Before you get in touch
How do I know if I need a new consumer unit?
Older fuse boxes with rewirable fuses, or without RCD protection, are usually worth replacing. An inspection will tell you for certain.
What is an EICR and how often do I need one?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report records the state of your wiring. Guidance is every 10 years for an owner-occupied home and at least every 5 years for a rented one.
Will the power be off while you work?
Sometimes, but only for as long as the job needs. We tell you beforehand so you can plan around it.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. New circuits and consumer unit changes come with an Electrical Installation Certificate, and smaller jobs with a Minor Works Certificate, both recording the test results.
